Aura is the newest perfume by Thierry Mugler brand, known for its brave and unusual creations (remember Womanity from 2010). Mugler rarely launches prototype perfumes, so-called fragrance pillars. In fact, they are so rare that they can be counted on one hand since the launch of Angel in 1990s’ Angel, A*Men, Alien, Womanity and now Aura. Each of these (except Aura) has a number of versions and flankers, some of which are better than prototypes, like A*Men Pure Havane, Pure Malt. And even B*Men. This leads to the conclusion that the house of Mugler carefuly decides to make these new steps and Aura is for more ways than one a big step into the uncharted fragrance territories.
Let’s see what the people from Mugler have to say about their latest perfume:
Aura invites you to reconnect with your inner nature and to unleash all your femininity and your aura. By blending floral freshness with feline sensuality, the fragrance releases vibrant notes with an assertive personality.
After smelling Aura for the first time it reminded me of something close and familiar, something from my past but not a recent one. On a childhood memory. Not pleasant memories, just memories. Luckily, my girl friend was with me and she experienced the opening of the perfume in the exact same way and has the same feeling. Its those hexagon mint candies covered with sugar powder that are bought en masse. Our grannies always offered them to visitors and when they went to the graveyard. Yes, the dead men candies. For the soul and peace. Graveyard candies. The green scent of death – just like Lorca’s poem “Green, I love you green”. But I don’t want you close. Although my fried discarded the perfume I decided to keep the blotter and follow its development. After all, it is the new Mugler. All I can say is that it doesn’t get better. Gamble with Kenzo’s heavy notes on one hand and the stuffy white flowers accentuated with vanilla and rhubarb on the other. Not my cup of tea. But If you like the smell of burning ivy, then give it a chance. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll leave Aura and the green candies to a vigil. I have a funny feeling that one will be for Thierry Mugler’s Aura.[Fragrance notes] rhubarb, orange blossom, vanilla, wood notes. [Fragrance group] woody aromatic.
