Lalique Amethyst is a sophisticated fragrance perfect for bold, intelligent women. The fragrance is a unique blend of rich, flowery notes with a hint of sweetness, making it suitable for any occasion.
And like all Lalique fragrances, it comes in a stunning bottle. But that is no surprise because Rene Lalique has made all the famous bottles for the best brands since the beginning of the 20th century. Amethyst is no exception – the beautiful amethyst-colored bottle of Lalique Amethyst does not disappoint. Inspired by the luxurious gemstones we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) covet, this bottle is a work of art with its sleek design and intricate detailing.
As for the scent itself, Lalique Amethyst opens like a basket of freshly picked berries in the forest or the mountain hills. And what is unique about the smell of berries in Amethyst is that they don’t smell screechy and attention-grabbing as in Imitation Woman by Amouage or dark and earthy as in Enchanted Forest by The Vagabond Prince. Not even a sickeningly sweet, as seen in many of the recent launches in the designer section of perfumeries, but green and juicy, like they are freshly picked.
The transition to the floral heart is seamless. We have peony, rose, and ylang-ylang that give the perfume a flowery sweetness on one side and a pepper note on the other, which offers a sharpness, depth, and counterbalance to the sweet aroma. The fruity notes’ juiciness is still present and smells even more endearing than they did at the start. However, the sweetness remains mild, as if the berries matured as the fragrance developed on the skin. And best of all, the most beautiful musky scent envelops all notes like a cashmere scarf, possibly a signature move from Lalique perfumers.
Like most Lalique fragrances, the sillage is moderate, classy, and gentle, but the longevity is more than six hours. So you don’t have to worry about reapplying it during the day.
It’s not your typical girlie floral-fruity scent. I think it’s more suited for a mature woman in touch with herself and the nature around her. In addition, Amethyst is very affordable, so it’s a good choice for a staple in your fragrance wardrobe or as a gift to a dear friend.[Fragrance notes] top notes: black currant, blackberry, blueberry, mulberry, strawberry; middle notes: peony, pepper, rose, ylang ylang; base notes: musk, vanilla, woody notes. [Fragrance group] fruity floral.
Perfumer is Nathalie Lorson.
