Le Male is a perfume by fashion brand Jean Paul Gaultier known for their perfume bombs. Le Male is no exception and could possibly be the best representative of its kind, the powerhouse perfume. Launched in 1995 it has legions of fans all over the world and a right to be called a modern male classic.

Le Male is a perfume that cannot leave you indifferent. Heads will turn when they smell this strong perfume on you. You don’t have to have a sculpted body like the one of the perfume bottle so people would notice you on the street. You don’t have to be a sailor with the striped shirt because you will still be able to stir waves of (ladies’) emotions.

I made a dinner a few years ago and asked 15 of my girl friends to smell around 20 perfumes I had. Even though they didn’t know a lot about perfumes, 14 of them chose Le Male as the most attractive one. Gaultier clearly knew what he was doing when he asked Francis Kurkdjian to patch up this perfume wonder. Vanilla, lavender and sandalwood are dominant notes.  Despite its classic pyramidal structure of the notes, this perfume is in fact quite linear and its smell will stay the same the entire night. It is extremely adamant and stays on your skin up to 24 hours. And when you forget you even put it on you will be surprised by a gentle scent of tastiest vanilla you have ever smelled, all creamy and irresistible. Le male is not for the introverts. It lets people know without a doubt who walked in a room. You don’t have to be a sailor to wear this perfume but you have to feel like you’re home in every port because all eyes will be on you. It is a must for every pilot and traveler. Le Male speaks all languages and connects people worldwide.

Le Male’s composition is linear with just a few notes, but those notes have titanium strength. Lavander in it is very special, like no other. Just like Cool Water by Davidoff redefined the usage of lavender in perfumes so did Le Male. The combination of fresh aromatic herbs, lavender and mint on one hand and warm, seductive vanilla and amber on the other is so skillfully done you’ll have the feeling that Le Male is making you cool in summer and warm in winter, although I would suggest you wear it in fall/winter time and perhaps in spring but in very small amounts. This is a perfume you can wear all year round but the key is how much you put on. During the winter three drops, during the summer only one – two if you’re going on a date. No more than that! The perfume is extremely potent and lasting and you want to draw not repel people. This is a classic male scent although I must admit energetic, dominant, seductive ladies can wear it too.
