L’Homme Ideal Intense is a flanker of L’Homme Ideal perfume line by French house Guerlain that began the line with L’Homme Ideal eau de toilette in 2014, followed by Cologne version in 2015, Eau de Parfum in 2016 and Sport in 2017. The thing that all these perfumes have in common is skillful flirting with wood, leather and gourmand notes – almond, vanilla and tonka on one hand and smokey woody, vetiver and leather notes on the other.

With this perfume, Guerlain manages to do what many contemporary male perfumes didn’t. And that it, to create a perfume that balances perfectly between irreconcilable differences. East and West, day and night, hot and cold, passionate and icy, business and adventure….intoxicating and sobering.

When I look at the notes L’Homme Ideal Intense is made of I cannot resist the feeling that I’m looking at a potion from that cult TV show Charmed where Phoebe and Page made an ideal man for Piper.

Smokey notes for mystery, leather for strength and masculinity, almond for tenderness and caring, vanilla for beauty and chilly for passion. The only difference that instead of latino mix Phoebe secretly put in, we have an Arabian mix in this one. The magic worked and the ideal man, an Arabian prince from 1001 tales has been made. Luckily we don’t need to have to be sorcerers to do what  Phoebe and Page did in the show. Thanks to Guerlain and the potent mate bottle, with L’Homme Ideal Intense every man can become an exotic Arabian prince.

[Fragrance notes] top notes: almond, chilly, cardamom; middle notes: labdanum, rose, leather; base notes: patchouli, sandalwood, tonka, vanilla, smoky notes.

[Fragrance group] oriental woody.
